Robinault leads Eagles to victory
If Youngsville’s Riley Robinault is just getting started, the future is most certainly bright.
The Eagles’ fantastic freshman scored a career-high 30 points, helping Youngsville to its second win of the season in a 61-43 victory over Jamestown (Pennsylvania) Tuesday at Youngsville High School.
Youngsville had hit a bit of a dry spell since its season-opening victory at the Forest Area Tournament. On this night, however, Robinault and her teammates made sure quickly the results would be much different.
Robinault scored 6 points in the opening quarter and Shea Walton added 4 as the Eagles built a 15-8 advantage. The second quarter proved to be more of the same with Robinault adding another 10 points and the lead growing to double digits by halftime.
Robinault added another 14 points in the second half with senior Olivia Darling also scoring 8 of her 10 points in the final 16 minutes to allow the Eagles to cruise to the win.
Robinault and Darling were the two Youngsville players in double figures with Walton adding 8 points, Madison VanGuilder 6 points and Ashlee Peterson, Kahlynne May and Zaylee Cressley also finding the scoring column.
Youngsville will look for its third win of the season Monday when it hosts Cambridge Springs.
