The Eisenhower girls basketball team won just two games last season, but it improved to 5-2 in the 2022-23 campaign by downing Iroquois 63-18 in the championship game of the Barringer Holiday Classic on Wednesday night.
The Lady Knights led 14-0 in the first quarter and they never looked back.
Freshman Clara Steinberg was named the tournament Most Valuable Player, while Lainey Fontt, also a freshman, was selected the team MVP.
“I thought it was just a total team win,” Eisenhower coach DJ Steinberg said. “These girls are proving that the Lady Knights can play competitive basketball again. We have some things to work on, but I’m just so proud of these girls. The hard work they are putting in is starting to pay off and they have bought into the system. Just a total team win.”
