Sheffield to host Senior Night tonight

SHEFFIELD — After a strong win Monday night, the Wolverines were swept by visiting Johnsonburg 21-25, 15-25, and 11-25 to fall to 7-8.

“We just didn’t play together after the first set,” said Sheffield head coach Melissa Lemay. “I believe that we let our emotions influence the game in a negative way tonight. This game isn’t just about the physical ability that we have to play, it’s also the mental game which we really struggled with tonight. Individually we had some great plays at times, but as a team, we couldn’t put things together.”

Kassidy Orinko had 12 digs, five kills, and two blocks. Kadence Steffan had seven digs and 15 assists. Emily Foster had six digs and five kills, while Lexi Goldthwaite had 4 blocks.

“I know that this is not the way that the girls want to see our season end, so they need to be able to put this loss behind us and do better (today) against Ridgway,” said Lemay.

Sheffield will conclude their three-game homestand tonight against the Elkers, which will also serve as the Wolverines’ Senior Night.

Starting at $3.50/week.
