Ike competes at Buhl Park Invite

SHARON — The Eisenhower Knights cross country team traveled to Sharon on Saturday to compete in the Buhl Park Invitational.

The entire Knights team was invited and the field was full, with every team in fields of over 100 runners. The varsity boys competed in a group of 201 runners. The top Knight boys varsity runners were Joe Mistretta who placed 58th with a time of 18:08 and Trenton Courtney who finished 138th with a time of 20:22.

The top Lady Knights, in a field of 177 runners were Kierra Wismar who finished 53rd with a time of 22:22 and placing 93rd was Emily Grosch with a time of 23:50.

The Knights junior high team was invited as well and two runners came home with medals. Placing for the girls, placing 48th, out of 237 runners was Isabelle Grosch with a time of 12:07. For the boys, Easton Fitzgerald ran in a crowded field of 233 runners, finished in 21st place with a time of 10:27.

“I’m just really proud of all of our runners,” said Knights head cross country coach Darlene Beach. “The organizers of the race have changed up the course over the last couple of years and our runners really do well with the new configuration.”

The Knights next race is this Wednesday against Warren on senior recognition night at 4 p.m.
