Warren softball scores 42 in DH sweep

They weren’t at home or on the road, but the Lady Dragons won a Region 5 doubleheader over Erie High on Wednesday.

Due to field conditions, Warren’s softball team moved to Eisenhower’s home field at Werner Park in Russell and saved a trip to Erie by playing both its home and road contests against the Royals.

It took Warren just seven innings total to win both, 15-0 in three innings and 27-7 in four.

Alana Stuart didn’t allow a hit in the first win, striking out seven in three innings. The Lady Dragons (7-1 in the region), on the other hand, finished with 14 hits. Katie Madigan and Lexi Hoffman had three each at the top of the order, Ellee Irwin had a double and triple, and Alix Lytle homered.

In the second game, Lytle started in her pitching debut, and Hoffman and Carly Beers finished off the rout over winless Erie (0-9).

Lytle had three doubles and a home run in the nightcap among Warren’s three round-trippers.

Starting at $3.50/week.
