Jackals take two during busy weekend

Playing its third game in as many days, Jamestown held off Dayton 82-78 in The Basketball League on Sunday afternoon at Jamestown Community College’s Physical Education Complex.

Eric Mack led a balanced scoring attack for the Jackals with 16 points, Daniel Mulamba added 14, Jon Lee contributed 11 and Glenroy Carr Jr. collected 10.

Jawad Adekoya and Kelvon Fuller led the Flight with 19 points apiece. Teammate Andrew McCollum chipped in 10.

Taking two out of three games on the weekend improved Jamestown’s record to 12-3, which is good enough for first place in the Upper Midwest Division.

Less than 24 hours earlier, the Jackals suffered a 91-89 loss to Toledo at Toledo Scott High School on Saturday night.

Devonte Pratt paced Glass City with 27 points, Kaleb Vaughn added 18 points, Clemmye Owens V 16 and Christopher Darrington 12.

Lee poured in 28 points to lead Jamestown. Thomas Garrick added 15 points, Julius Brooks had 14 and Mack added 10.

The Jackals opened their weekend Friday night with another close game, this time a 97-96 win over Toledo at Toledo Scott High School.

Bernard Edwards paced Jamestown with 23 points, Lee had 22, Mack and Rene Castro both had 11 and Brooks chipped in 10.

Darrington led Toledo with 19 points, Travon Howard had 18, Eric Worthey added 16 and Vaughn had 14.
