Beyer shines in Russell

RUSSELL — Warren’s Katie Beyer finished second in the varsity girls race at Eisenhower High School on Tuesday.

The Dragons’ Hugh Harrison finished third and teammate Sam Lindell was fourth in the varsity boys race.

“We are happy with everyone’s racing today. They are where they need to be at this point in the season,” Warren head coach Kevin Dustin said. “They are doing all the little things in races they need to be and we expect to see that all pay off here at the end of the season.”

Eisenhower’s Alex Hummel was the top Knights finisher in the boys race in seventh place with a time of 19:35 while teammate Chloe Lasecki was the top girls finisher for Eisenhower in eighth with a time of 28:56.

In the boys race, Harbor Creek beat Warren 22-33 and Eisenhower 15-50. Warren also beat Eisenhower 15-50.

In the girls race, Harbor Creek beat both Warren and Eisenhower 15-50.

Warren’s junior high girls team remained undefeated with a victory over Harbor Creek despite missing multiple runners.

“They pulled off an impressive win,” Dustin said of the girls. “I’m very proud of their efforts.”

Morgan Alexander finished first in 11:41 for the Dragons. Eisenhower’s top finisher was fourth-place Kierra Wismar in 12:20.

In the junior high boys race, Warren’s Cole English was sixth in 11:40 and Eisenhower’s Bryceton Wilkins was seventh in 11:57.
