FOXBURG — Almost one year removed from an 86-0 loss to Keystone that contributed to the cancellation of the Wolverines 2020 season, Sheffield fell 77-0 on the road against the Union/Allegheny-Clarion Falcon Knights.

In addition to Sheffield’s second loss of the year, the Wolverines saw two players taken off the field via ambulance.

“We just got our program essentially back this year,” said acting head coach John Uplinger, who was filling in for head coach Mike Barr. Barr traveled with the first player taken by ambulance.

“These kids want to be here. They want to fight. This coaching staff is going to do everything that we can to put these guys in a position, put them out on the field, and keep going.”

The Falcon Knights started early and fast in racking up their 488 total offensive yards with Dawson Camper 3-yard run. Camper would go on to score two more times on the ground and once in the air with a 32-yard pass from quarterback Bailey Crissman. Camper’s four-touchdown game gives him seven for the year.

The Wolverines struggled to achieve any offensive success, rushing for negative yards and completing four passes for 37 yards. Sheffield turned the ball over four times.

“We got to come together more as a team,” said Uplinger. “Physicality has got to be a big point of emphasis for us.”
