The Kinzua Sluggers 12U baseball team won the 19th annual Millcreek Summer Sizzler over the weekend with a 5-0 record.

The team defeated Erie County Baseball; Northwest Warriors; Frederick, Maryland Highlanders; and Erie Outlaws in pool play.

They played the Meadville Bandits in the championship game winning 9-4.

Members of the team include: Oliver Stump, Rylan Benton, Cooper Charles, Liam Hanson, Ian Kinney, David Barczak, Chayce Kolbert, Landon Wood, Tyler Wesolowski, Austin Hanson, Carter Rizzuto and Oscar Harris. The Sluggers are coached by Miles Stitzinger and Andy Wood.

Rizzuto pitched the first two innings of the championship game striking out four batters and giving up just two hits.

Hanson had the highest batting average for the weekend at .666.

Barczak received the tournament MVP award.
