WCYBSA all-star tryouts

The Warren County Youth Baseball Softball Association will be holding all-star team tryouts for boys and girls Minors; boys and girls Majors; boys Intermediate; and girls Juniors at the Farm Colony Complex in the next week.

The tryout dates are this Saturday (registration is at 9:30 a.m. and evaluations begin at 10 a.m.); Wednesday, May 26, 6 p.m.; and Thursday, May 27, 6 p.m.

Softball

Minors

Sheffield downed the Experience, 15-12, as Kelsi Silves, Maddy Snell and Katie Finch combined for eight strikeouts in the circle.

Lily Richards had an RBI triple; Molly Richards smacked a two-run single; Riley Grubbs had two singles and three RBIs; and Sydney Barr added a two-run single for the winners.

Majors

Anchor Advisors defeated Titusville, 18-6.

Anchor Advisors also swept a doubleheader from The Plaza on Friday, 13-3 and 15-5.

Highlighting the sweep were a triple by Lexi Pascuzzi; a pair of triples by Madelyn Morrison; a double by Haleigh Highhouse and singles by Laniey Font, Olivia Wallace, Sophia Wallace, Alannah Garza, Morgan Zaffino, Grace Benson and Callie Delp.

Font and Morrison combined for numerous strikeouts.

Baseball

Minors

Brayden Frank and Liam Hanson smacked inside-the-park home runs; Wyatt Neall and Ryan Huck both had a double; and Braylon Haskins added a two-run single to lead Horner Family Practice past A&B Heating, 18-11.

Grant May drilled an inside-the-park home run, Keegan Weissinger belted a double and Jaret Lang added a single and played fine defense for A&B Heating.

Colin Blair drove in two runs and recorded an unassisted double play to highlight Terry Card Home Improvements’ 11-9 victory over AGI Safety Services.

Luke Green, Eddie Alplanalp and Owen Young each had a base hit for the winners; Alplanalp struck out eight; and Chase Card turned in a fine defensive effort behind the plate.

Wyatt Wilson had three hits; Logan Ristau and Clay Cummings each had a base hit; and Cummings turned in a strong effort on the mound for AGI Safety Services.

Bryson Hurley, Evan Sorrell, Wesley Wilcox and Lauson Hoisington all smacked doubles to lead Ground Zero Stump Grinding to a 15-6 victory over Gretchen E. Porier.

Gavin Reynolds added a stellar catch in left field and Ramsey Williams turned in a nice outing on the mound.

Cash Young singled and Bentely Sherry struck out seven in three innings of work for Gretchen E. Porier.

Last weekend, Horner Family Practice claimed a tournament championship with a 6-5 walk-off victory over Ground Zero Stump Grinding.

Mason Rowles started the rally with a base hit; Joey Fanelli drilled an RBI double; and Brayden Frank drove in a pair of runs to secure the win.

Alexander Lund turned in a fine outing on the mound, striking out nine in four innings of work. He helped his own cause with a double. Fanelli and Frank also doubled.

Wesley Wilcox fanned 13 and smacked an inside-the-park home run for Ground Zero Stump Grinding.

On Friday, Horner Family Practice defeated Gretchen E. Porier, 17-6.

Liam Hanson belted a double and a triple, Frank had a two-bagger, and Neall had a triple for the winners.

On Saturday, Horner Family Practice downed A&B Heating, 11-1.

Hanson didn’t allow a hit through five innings and struck out 13. Neall and Hanson each had a pair of doubles.

50/70 league

Superior Tire beat NAPA Auto Parts, 13-8.

Cole Fitzgerald, Hayden Raffaele and Braden Thompson all doubled for Superior Tire. Jack Lynds hit two doubles. Ian Munksgard had an RBI and Jonah Swartz had a two-run home run.

Bill Bennett went 2 for 2 at the plate, Colin Zdarko hit a double and Landon Wood struck out six for NAPA Auto Parts.

Boys machine pitch

Mark Lauffenburger Heating & Air knocked off Cornerstone Lounge, 21-11.

Jackson Warner led Cornerstone with a triple and three RBIs.

Evan Wilcox belted a grand slam home run for Laffenburger’s.

Girls machine pitch

Superior Plus Propane edged Drake’s Mobile Estate, 7-6.
