Industrial Tournament information
The 36th annual Terry F. Ristau Memorial Softball Tournament will be Aug. 21-23 at Betts Park.
The Tournament will begin at 6 p.m. on Aug.21. Betts, Brown, Foley, Whirley, Fireman and Legion field in Russell will be used. Please make sure to respond to the question on the roster form regarding to play on Aug. 21. We will try our best on making that happen.
We are planning on approximately 60 teams.
Both Men’s and Co-ed divisions will have an Industrial and Open bracket. The top 3 teams of each bracket will receive trophy and charity prize money.
To qualify for an Industrial team you must work for the company playing. All rosters must be on a company letter head with names and address. If all people on roster do not work for the company playing you will be considered an open bracket team. All rosters need to have all names, phone numbers and place of employment.
There is no restriction on how far away you live. You must be at least 16 years old to play.
Golf results
Joe Yeagle shot low gross with a 35 on the front nine and Bruce Swanson had low net with a 31 in the Jacksonv Valley Golf Club’s Tuesday Night League. Skete Williams had low gross on the back nine with a 34 and Randy Bevevino low net with a 32.
Ameriprise Financial Continues to be the overall leader in the team standings with 74 points, followed by Crescent Beer with 69.5
Over 30
Mangione Beverage slugged out a 22-18 win over O’Brien Transmission in Over 30 Modified Softball League action Tuesday at Betts Park.
Scott Chase had three doubles, Bill Nabeski and Kenny Frank each doubled twice, and Wes Schwanke added a home run in the winning effort. Schwanke was also the winning pitcher.
Dave Stuart had a pair of home runs while Todd Breeding, Nick Bryan, Denny Viglo, and Josh Daniels each had two doubles for O’Brien.

Kwik Fill used an eight-run top of the fifth and added four in the sixth to defeat Meridien Hardwood, 17-7. Rich Zdarko homered and Rick Wagner was the winning pitcher for Kwik Fill.

Craco pounded out 20 hits led by three each from Dru Freeborough, Dan Farr, and David Wilson in a 15-4 win over American Legion. Shay Font had a triple in the win while Freeborough, Ron Thomas, Kyle Salerno, and Jim Morrison all added doubles. Thomas was also the winning pitcher.
Archery results
In the Warren Archery Club’s midseason shoot Bill Petrasky finished with a 269 and Skip Sperry had a 256 to lead the unlimited class. Jim Swick and Randy Jones led their respective fields.

Over 30 Softball
Hertel and Brown pounded out 18 hits in a 15-5 win over Kwik Fill in Over 30 Modified Softball League action Thursday at Betts Park. Andrew Harrington had three hits inlcuding a double for Hertel and Brown, which improves to 5-3 with the win. Barry Klenowski, Dustin Wilcox, and Jon Girardi added doubles while Glen Morse had a triple for Kwik Fill.
O’Brien Transmission edged out Buckhorn, 15-14, behind a pair of home runs by Josh Daniels. Erik Smith and Ryan Smith homered for Buckhorn.

Scandia Mountain Open
The 2nd annual Scandia Mountain Open to benefit the Scandia Volunteer Fire Department will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. It is a scramble format that is $55 for members and $75 for non-members. Mixed and women’s teams are also welcome. There will be a 50-50 drawing, as well as prize giveaways and a golf club raffle ticket giveaway. Hot dogs will be served at the turn, as well as a cook your own steak dinner. Wesleyville defeated Post 135 by a score of 10-0 in Junior American Legion baseball action. Colby Johnson, Jackson Knupp, and Nick Hussey had hits for Post 135 while second baseman Derek Knapp turned a double play on defense.
