Get ready, Warren residents. Roundabout construction is coming to an intersection near you soon after the snow melts this coming spring.

A project meeting held recently is just the latest reminder that the roundabout is coming. It’s a development many of us aren’t excited about, and the thought of navigating the area Pennsylvania Avenue and Market Street while the work is already creating headaches.

Over time, we’re sure the experience with Warren’s roundabout will be similar to that of Fredonia up in Chautauqua County. In that city, too, there was much consternation over construction of a roundabout. Lawsuits were filed. Meetings were contentious. People were upset. The construction process was messy.

But once Chautauqua County residents adjusted to the new way of getting around things worked out. It’s not perfect, but it’s not the end of the world either.

The construction, on the other hand …. ugh.
