Voters make a difference
By SUSAN STOUT
On Nov. 7, voters will select members of our School Board of Directors and our County Commissioners, other local offices, and several statewide judicial positions. Yet in Warren County, only 27 percent of eligible voters participated in our local primaries last spring.
In some ways, local elections make the most difference in our day to day lives.
We know that big changes are being implemented in our school system, and we know results from a new county-wide re-assessment will be delivered to the County Commissioners whom we elect. Even though there are few contested offices, your vote sends a message that you care about these positions.
We will also choose several state-wide judges. The race for a vacant seat on the Supreme Court has attracted more than $3 million in campaign contributions. Your vote will help decide that race.
You can learn about the candidates at VOTE411.ORG and at SPOTLIGHTPA.ORG.
If you are a registered voter, you may vote in person or by mail. If you prefer to vote by mail, your application to do so must be received by Tuesday.
An application can be found at https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/OnlineAbsenteeApplication/#/OnlineAbsenteeBegin.
However you choose to vote, and whomever you choose to vote for, please vote.
