Site for center?

Dear Editor,

Wouldn’t the Former Youngsville High School be a better location for the proposed Kinzua Discovery Center? This would be a good utilization and preservation of an existing building and allow funding to go toward staffing and programing instead of 10 million dollars for a new building. It sounds like a good idea and I wish them luck.

Minnesota’s mess

Dear Editor,

Five years ago, one could’ve predicted the chaos in Minneapolis. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and director of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas allowed our border laws to be trashed. An estimated 10 million to 12 million crossed illegally plus perhaps a million “gotaways.”

Biden advocated an immigration reform bill that failed to pass. He condemned President Donald Trump for encouraging its defeat.

The bill deserved defeat! It allowed a threshold limit of 5,000 crossings a day, which translates to 1.8 million per year. It was legislative foolishness. Also, no bill was necessary. Trump shut down the border by enforcing laws Biden ignored.

But the proposal of that bill assured illegals that the Biden team was on their side. They flocked to sanctuary cities like Minneapolis.

Crossing illegally is a crime, even if a migrant is non-violent. But a certain percent were, or would become, rapists, murderers, drug dealers, etc.

The goal of ICE, first and foremost, is to apprehend the “worst of the worst.” They are the greatest danger to citizens and legal migrants.

This is what should happen. If an illegal migrant is arrested and detained,local authorities should inform ICE and offer to turn the migrant over to ICE in the jail. If ICE already has requested a detainer, that detainer must be honored. Two ICE agents can do the job. Also there must be no bail for migrants accused of felonies.

Of course, Minneapolis and other sanctuary cities have many perpetrators on the streets. This requires many ICE agents and dangerous pursuits. The greater visibility of ICE draws in more protesters,some of whom are violent. Citizens, migrants and ICE agents are all in more danger in this warped arrangement. The protesters and rioters could care less about the victims of criminal migrants.

At this writing, the presence of Tom Homan provides hope. He is a real border czar; Harris wasn’t.

The following items are relevant:

— Illegal migrant Adrian Arias ran from ICE and deserted his 5-year-old son. ICE agents took the boy to his mother who wouldn’t take him in. ICE looked after the boy until he was reunited with Arias. Presumably, they are both back in their home country. ICE did not kidnap the boy. That was a Trump Derangement Syndrome lie.

— The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that overdose deaths are down 20% from last year.Secure borders are making a difference.

— Neville Roy Singham is a tech billionaire living in China. Jodie Evans, his wife, is the founder of radical Code PInk. He’s being investigated by the FBI as a financial sponsor of anti-ICE protestors in ‘blue’ cities.He has praised Nicholas Maduro and has funded “The People’s Forum,” which is associated with pro-Palestinian protests (i.e-anti-Jewish).

The left wants ICE agents unmasked and with name tags. This reckless wish would make agents and their families more exposed to after-hour harassment, threats and attacks.

As it is, there are death threats. Of course, the far left was fine with masked rioters in 2020 and President Obama’s 3 million deportations. Hypocrisy is a symptom of TDS.
