Magnet for critics
Dear Editor,
The United Kingdom -based Guardian featured a column entitled “Iran Danger is Far From Over.” The author is afflicted with “Trump Derangement Syndrome” citing President Donald Trump’s “magnetic attraction to whatever looks like it might bring glory” and “Trump’s illegal attack on Iran”.
Trump has a “magnetic attraction” actually, to secure borders, deportation of illegal migrants, American energy independence, growth of American industry, elimination of biological men from women’s sports and other worthy goals.
It’s amazing that The Guardian sides with Iran. Iran has been the main source of global terror for decades. Cash transferred to Iran during Biden’s administration was used to pursue nuclear weapons and to fund terror by the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah.
For years, Iran’s leadership has urged “Death to America!” and ‘Death to Israel!” They clearly stated a goal to blow Israel off the map. The Guardian author is morally and logically challenged.
The Guardian is enthusiastic about New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. Predictably, so are far-left Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
A few of Mamdani’s Communistic goals include a rent-freeze on 960,000 rent-stabilized apartments.
This means landlords could not raise rents when their taxes and maintenance costs rise. Such a policy causes upkeep to be neglected resulting in slums and condemned buildings.
He wants free bus rides and free child care. He wants city-run grocery stores that make no profit. But who will pay the store clerks and bus drivers? Of course, “the rich.”
Mamdani wants to shift the burden to “richer, whiter neighborhoods.” He wants to ban all guns, though criminals will still carry them. He wants to “Trump-proof” the city so migrant criminals can be “protected” from ICE. He wants the International Criminal Court to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu as a war criminal for defending Israel. Josef Stalin and Vladimir Lenin would have loved this maladjusted New Yorker!
Some have bashed Trump for having a deferment from the draft. Trump was exempted due to heel spurs. He didn’t issue the exemption. The draft board did after his physical.
But these critics never complain that Biden, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton had no military service.
Of course, Trump never should have belittled John McCain’s service.
Trump’s service to the nation is quite outstanding. He was a multi-billionaire long before running for office. He could have run his businesses and lived a luxurious lifestyle. He could have been untouchable to the issues of most Americans.
Instead, he ran for office and twice became president. He endured two assasination attempts. He had his time and money wasted by sham trials initiated by left-wing judicial miscreants. He was slandered by liars in the since-debunked “Russian Collusion.” Through it all, his “America First” dedication remains.

Turning a tale
Dear Editor,
Accusing others of what one is guilty of is called protection. The tactic casts doubt and shifts attention onto others.
Protection involves deny – attack – reverse victim and offender. The acronym is DARVO.
On every issue, every opponent, every day for years, he uses this tactic. He uses it masterfully.
“Not me, it’s you.”
“It’s false news.”
“The Biden Family is doing nepotism and is corrupt.”
“Tthe women accusing me of sexual abuse are lying.”
“The out of control F. B. I. raided Mar-a-Lago.” Ad nauseam.
His political attacks invariably includes “radical,” “lawlessness,” “lunatics,” or “vermin” words when referring to opponents — Democrats, judges – anyone he sees as an obstacle.
Never is there offered substance. No concrete policy proposal, instead we get “bigger,” “better,” “faster,” and often outright lies. Project 2025 contains proposed reductions of our safety net Social Security, etc. and his “Big Beautiful Bill” has actual safety net reductions. Trump denied having anything to do with these tangible proposals during the campaign but here we are.
We know Warren is not being overrun with illegal immigrants but do we know over 25% of WGH patients are recipients of federal government assistance? Their assistance plus direct WGH assistance will be reduced which will add to WGH’s financial stress and deteriorate local health care, including elder care.
The Big Beautiful Bill continues the low tax rates for the wealthiest; Billionaire Warren Buffett pays a lower tax percentage than does his secretary; This tax program will continue to shift wealth to the rich and away from the youth and working poor.
It is lunacy to believe much of what is on pro-Trump social media: Alex Jones comments about the mass murder at Sandy Hook; COVID vaccines will turn you into a zombie; “the worst of the worst illegal immigrants” and they are to be housed at Warren State Hospital.
One conspiracy after another, all forecasting doom and gloom.
Watch for the next Trump DARVO. Follow the bouncing ball. We know the script.
It is also lunacy to believe Trump cares a rat’s behind about lower costs and improving the lives of our struggling working families.
