Fighting words

Dear Editor,

The 250th United States Army anniversary parade in Washington, D.C., is history. President Donald J. Trump, a convicted felon, should have excused himself from attending except for the fact that it was important for him to celebrate his birthday in front of the troops.

He supposedly avoided the military draft because of a questionable foot spur ailment, yet it did not curtail his years of golfing. Most important, however, are several facts. He stated about the late Sen. John McCain that “he’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”

He also called fallen soldiers “suckers” and “losers”. He did not visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France … “because he did not believe it (sic) important to honor American war dead.” He also referred to the more than 1,800 Marines who lost their lives at Belleau Woods as “suckers” for getting killed.

What a wonderful Commander in Chief we have for our men and women in uniform, and the rest of us who believe in our Constitution.

Chaos from left

Dear Editor,

Once again we view “peaceful protests” in the image of the George Floyd riots. Has the left not yet learned the meaning of peaceful? When one sees looting, burning, physical altercations, peaceful is not the vocabulary word of choice.

The root of the immigration problem in this country belongs at the feet of Joe Biden or whoever signed the open border bill. Without this Executive Order millions of immigrants would not have been able to cross into this country except through acceptable means of vetting.

Biden’s foolishness and incompetence opened the border and now we have chaos as I.C.E. tries to return convicts, murderers, rapists back from where they came; President Donald Trump is blamed because once again the dems cannot admit the truth of the situation. If the socialist-dems believe the illegal immigrants should remain to do the menial tasks they want done , it certainly has overtones of racism; of course, dems “never” talk about racism pertaining to themselves. Their hypocrisy speaks for itself.

Leftist leaders talk about saving democracy, which doesn’t mean that the cognitive abilities of the president are hidden from the country and family members and/or nameless aides are running the government. They continually show disdain for our government; many are self-proclaimed socialists.

I question why there is such concern about the Constitution and democracy when their goal is to make the U.S. a socialist country. We are well on our way with big government spending on social issues. It would be nice to see the protestors/rioters laboring to help the country instead of using their time to tear it down.

If many on the left believe this country is so bad, there are opportunities to leave in order to find whatever is considered greener pastures. It’s the choice of anyone to make the decision whether to remain or go. However, my plea is that we, as a nation, aren’t destroyed by the actions of the radical left before a decision is made.
