Sociopaths
Dear Editor,
The most incredible trait of a sociopath is his complete lack of conscience, lack of empathy, remorse, guilt or shame- moral emotion.
It means that he can do practically anything, and then act as if nothing happened.
A sociopath has no fear. He cares about what others think of him only if it affects his ability to further con and manipulate.
To the sociopath, what he needs and wants is most important of all. He thinks of himself. And if he seems “helpful” this is because he has his own agenda to achieve. If he wants something, he will make sure that he obtains what he wants by using whatever means he needs.
A sociopath has learned from an early age to “mimic” feelings that other people feel.
A sociopath challenges others” perceptions or memories of reality: “gaslighting”.
To a sociopath, nothing is ever their fault.
The sociopath has an advantage, in that he is able to operate by playing on what he does not have, but what others have – “a conscience”. He will accuse you of what he is guilty of doing himself to distract you. He will talks a million miles a minute, so you do not have time to think. He will fake a sense of morality, and tell you what you should be doing.
Because a sociopath lacks a conscience, he is unable to make long term plans.
Within a short span of time, the same pattern re-occurs. He makes new promises. What has happened in the past is forgotten. He does not learn from past mistakes.
He lives for power and control, and therefore cannot afford to admit any weakness or error, not even to himself.
The above statements were taken from my college Abnormal Psychology textbook.
Citing examples of our Chief Executive’s behavior and statements in which match sociopathic behavior can be done on almost a daily basis.
I doubt if Americans who voted for Donald J. Trump knowingly voted for a sociopath, though there were ample indications he was such but there is no doubt now as to what the Electoral College electors have elected President — a sociopath.
Our local and state Republican Party leaders’ absolute silence as their GOP party leader’s folly, meanness, embarrassing, lewd, wrong, and dangerous behavior and statements is deafening. Have they no shame? Toomey, Kelly, Thompson, Hutchinson, Rapp, Ash Khare, tea partyers — where art thou?
Signed,
Don Scott,
Warren
