Patricia L. Buvoltz

Patricia L. Buvoltz passed away peacefully at the age of 76 in her home with family by her side on Jan. 4, 2026. She was born in Titusville, PA on March 6, 1949 to the late John H. Gibney and Wilda (Lane) Gibney. She graduated from Warren Area High School in 1967 and attended Edinboro State College where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She started her career in the little two-room school house in Scandia, PA where she taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades all in one classroom! She married William (Bill) Buvoltz in Scandia in 1972 raised two children, Jennifer and Jeffrey. Pat later taught at McClintock Elementary, Market Street Elementary and North Warren Elementary schools. She retired after 30 years of teaching. During those 30 years of teaching, she made a special lasting impression on not only her students, but the parents as well. She was lovingly known as “Mrs. B” by her students who she not only taught but loved and supported. She would make a huge deal about a student’s accomplishments by doing crazy things like dancing on a table. She cared deeply about each and every student she had.

Pat loved her birthday celebrations, but never would admit to any age beyond 19 years! When she was not in the classroom teaching, she liked to travel the world with her family and friends. One of her favorite past-times was geocaching with her daughter, Jennifer. She was an avid reader, a beautiful quilter, she enjoyed painting and crafts. Her favorite hobby up until the day before she passed, was doing diamond art painting or as she called it, “dinky dots”! Pat also enjoyed gardening and loved her flower gardens where she could get her hands in the dirt and really feel the earth. She loved to hike, have picnics and go horse riding in her earlier years. Pat was a woman of many talents and loved keeping busy. She enjoyed volunteering at the Rouse Home and started the Book Cellar at the Warren Public Library.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Buvoltz, her sister, Sue Gibney and two brothers, John and Daniel Gibney. Pat is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Jennifer (Tom Byers) Buvoltz, a son Jeffrey Buvoltz, a brother-in-law, Allen (Hildi) Buvoltz, a sister-in-law Julie Long, a daughter-in-law Lynsey (Dave) Gill. She is also survived by her four beautiful grandchildren; Zack, Ian, Allyson, and Emma Buvoltz. They were her pride and joy.

Her daughter Jennifer would like to express her appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Mel Shaffer, for all the unconditional love, laughter and commitment as a caregiver and best friend to Pat. She was with her until the end. The family would also like to thank the Hospice of Warren County and also a very close family friend, Tammy Leitchenberger for all the love, grace and support she gave to the family and how she showed Pat so much love and compassion. Tammy is an angel in disguise!

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc. Those wishing to send online condolences may do so by visiting www.petersonblickfuneralhome.com or on our Facebook page.

The family honors Pat’s wishes to have no formal funeral services. The family will be planning a Celebration of Life at a later date to be determined by the family. Donations may be made in Pat’s name to the Faith Inn whose mission is to help those in need and the Warren Public Library.
