Noman E. Maney

Norman E. “Butch” Maney, 91, of Bryson City, NC, formerly of Warren, PA, passed away on Nov. 29, 2025. He was born on June 21, 1934, in Bryson City, NC to the late Verna and James Maney.

Butch spent his childhood in Bryson City, NC before enlisting into the military. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Upon marriage to Delores Nelson in 1953, they started a family and raised their children in Warren.

Butch worked for I.L. Geer & Sons, as a well tender. After his retirement, he worked with his sons, Joe and Kevin, and grandson, Curt, at Lindell & Maney, LLC. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his years in the oilfield. In his younger days he liked to hunt and fish, especially in North Carolina; he enjoyed the outdoors no matter what he was doing. Most of all, he enjoyed his family, he loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather.

Butch is survived by his children, daughter Karen (Mark) Bednar, daughter Joyce (Dennis) Sheehan, and their children Shawn, Tammy, Tiffany and Steven, son R. Joseph (Shelby) Maney, and their children Brandi-Lynn (Aaron) McKee and Curt (Bethany) Maney, daughter-in-law Mary (Kevin) Maney and their children Kyle (Katerina) Maney and Tage Maney. And many beloved great-grandchildren. Butch is also survived by his second wife, Margaret Maney of Bryson City, NC.

Butch was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Delores “Dee-Dee” (Nelson) Maney, his son, Kevin Maney, infant daughter, Donna Jean Maney, infant grandson, Dennis, and infant great-grandson, Timmy. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna. Ave E, Warren, PA, 16365. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 22, from 4pm-6pm, with a memorial service to follow at 6pm, with Autumn DeVault, FD, Certified Celebrant, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Butch’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
