Jeffrey L. Peterson

Jeffrey L. Peterson

Jeffrey L. (Jeff) Peterson, 62, of Sheffield, PA passed away on Oct. 9, 2025. He was born on May 27, 1963, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Karlton L. Peterson and Eleanor (Ryen) Peterson. Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Sheffield High School and affectionately known as Beezer. Jeff Retired after many years of employment with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) as an equipment operator and truck driver. Jeff was a person that one could depend on, especially his family knew that he had their back. One could say Jeff was the most gentle, kind-hearted man that there was. Even though he was taller than most people, he had the kindest smile and most soft-spoken voice and would always take the time to talk to anyone. He could fix just about anything, and one could say he was a “Mr. Fix-it” or a “Master Tinkerer”. He loved to go hunting and especially enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday. He volunteered at The Toy Shop, located on the grounds of Warren State Hospital. There he, and others, made countless toys to be given to underprivileged children. He volunteered at the Sheffield Train Depot and was an active member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee as well as on many other committees. He was a gentle man who would take the time to talk with anyone. If you didn’t know Jeff, by the time your conversation was over, he was your friend. He will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and all his dear friends of the community of Sheffield.

Left behind to cherish Jeff’s memory are his loving wife Carol Peterson and his sons Kyle M. Wees (Makensie) and Tyler M Wees (Miranda), all of Warren; his grandchildren: Zoey, Zayden, Amelia, Logan and his great-nieces: Ireland and Ellie. He is further survived by his in-laws, Tom and Linda Robertson of Sheffield. He was preceded in death by his parents: Karlton L. Peterson in 1991, Eleanor L. Peterson in 2025, his sister, Lori Brusso in 2021 and his nephew: Casey Brusso in 2008.

Jeff’s family will welcome friends on Wednesday, Oct.15, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sheffield United Methodist Church, 11 West Main Street in Sheffield.
