Bert L. Mullen, 92, of Warren, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at the Rouse Home, after a short illness.
Bert was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Warren, the son of the late Leo and Laura (Baker) Mullen. He graduated from Colestock High School in Titusville. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, earning a Purple Heart. He worked at United Refinery as a Data Manager, from which he retired after 23 years.
Bert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Bert is survived by his wife, Arlene R. (Rydgren) Mullen, whom he married on May 12, 1956; children, Nancy Mullen of Warren, Daniel Mullen and wife Sandra of Cranberry Township, Craig Mullen Sr. and wife Judy of Warren, and Blaine Mullen of Sheffield; brother-in-law, Stuart Rydgren and wife Sally of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Craig Jr., Ryan, Kirk, Scott, Kathleen, and Donovan; and eight great grandchildren.
Bert was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League Pendleton Detachment and of the Elks Lodge #223. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club #313 and the American Legion. Bert loved baseball, football, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoyed playing cribbage and drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon. Bert and Arlene were avid travelers, including snowbirding in Florida for many years.
Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave., Warren, PA, on Sunday, Sept.7, 2025, from 4 to 6 pm, and for one hour prior to a funeral service that will be held there on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11 am, with Reverend Ralph Culp, pastor, Covenant United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Marine Corp League, 2355 Jackson Ave., Warren, PA.
