Jean Tome

Jean Elizabeth West Tome, 78, passed away on March 26, 2025. She was born on March 4, 1947, in Warren Pa, to Harry Charles West and Imogene Keller West. Jean spent much of her life in Warren, PA; she was a home maker eventually working varied jobs including teacher’s aide, selling tombstones and selling shoes. Jean relocated to Columbus, Ohio in 2002. She again worked varied jobs including being a sorority house mother at Ohio University. Most recently she worked as a caregiver for the elderly. An extremely active woman, Jean enjoyed knitting, bowling, golfing and skiing. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, and attending all of the sporting and arts events of her grandchildren. Jean is survived by her children, Kevin (Heather) Tome and Lisa Tome (Jeff Wright); her grandchildren Samantha (Jeremiah) Shepherd, Zoe Wright, Sarah Tome and Max Wright; her sister Joann West and brother Stephen (Brenda) West; many other family members and friends, including her life long friend Joan Baker. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Westmoreland Place, Chillicothe, Ohio and National Church Residences Hospice. The Funeral Service will be Sunday April 6 at 1:30 p.m., at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME Central Chapel, 403 East Broad St., Columbus, Ohio where the family will receive friends afterwards until 4 p.m. Contributions may be made in her honor to: National Church Residences Hospice 2245 to: National Church Residences Hospice 2245 N.
