Darlene R. Turnquist

Darlene R. Turnquist, 54, of Jamestown passed away Sunday (July 30, 2023) after a short, fierce battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born August 20, 1968 in Jamestown, the daughter of Doug W. and Brenda J. Schrader Swanson.

Darlene was a graduate of Frewsburg Central School and was currently employed by Allstate Insurance Company.

Darlene was a very loving, caring, and positive person in the community. Many people loved and adored her.

She enjoyed crafting, cats, writing, poetry, and TV shows such as Charmed, Midsomer Murders, and Gilligans Island.

She loved to listen to: Fleetwood Mac, Shania Twain REO Speedwagon. She had a very diverse taste in music which she passed onto her son. Stevie Nicks was her favorite artist.

Darlene took a lot of inspiration from Stevie Nicks in her bewitching clothing style.

Surviving is a son Brett Turnquist of Jamestown, who she encouraged and supported unconditionally. He also ended up becoming a musical artist himself; her parents Doug and Brenda Swanson of Jamestown; a brother David Swanson (Marie Rickerson) of Greenhurst; a sister Julie Fofana (Sidique Fofana) of Warren, PA; a nephew Rashad Fofana and a niece Jadenne Fofana.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kurt Turnquist.

There will be a viewing on Friday, at The Falconer Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All friends, family, and anyone that knew her is welcome to come say their goodbye’s.

A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday in the Praise Fellowship Church, Russell, PA. Again, anyone is welcome to come.

The family will be receiving friends at the church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday.
