Raymond R. “Hop” Willey

Raymond R. “Hop” Willey, 71, of Chestnut St, Corry, PA, passed away Friday, June 16 2023 at the Corry Manor.

He was born May 15, 1952 in Corry, PA, a son of the late Donald and Helen (Courtwright) Willey.

Hop was raised and educated in Clymer, NY and graduated from Clymer High School in 1970. After high school, he attended college for a year until he became a bus driver for the Clymer School District. He worked there for 32 years until he retired in 2013 and moved to the Corry area. During the summers, Hop worked for Stroehmann’s driving the bread truck.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling and achieved nine 300 games and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame of Jamestown. He also coached bowling for the high school bowling team. Hop was an avid Yankees fan and loved baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Palmer and grandson, Nicholas Anderson.

Hop is survived by his wife, Norma (Measel) Willey, whom he married on April 5, 1985 in Clymer, NY; daughter, Rayele Bartholomew and her husband Jason of Jamestown, NY; step-daughter, Debra Dearborn and her husband David; three step-sons, Bryan Anderson and his wife Kim, Bruce Anderson and his companion Brenda and Brent Anderson all of Corry, PA and brother, Ronald Willey and his companion Linda of Jamestown, NY.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three nephews and two nieces.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
