While in the service, he married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Daniel-son, and they settled down in Warren, Pa., until 2004 when they moved to Virginia. They celebrated 53 years of marriage this past April.

Jim worked for the Warren County School District as the purchasing agent for 25 years before becoming an ordained Nazarene minister, where he worshipped at the Warren Church of the Nazarene before moving to Lancaster, Va., and was a care pastor at Whitestone Church of the Nazarene since 2004.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased in death by his sister, Carolee Heckathorn; brother, Charles A. Grinnen; and nephew, Chuck Grinnen.
