Daniel Michael McGreevy

Daniel Michael McGreevy, age 63 of O’Hara Township, passed away suddenly in his home, “The Hideaway”, in Youngsville, P.A. on Sun-day, Jan. 17, 2021. He is survived by Janice L. Ivanco (McGreevy); his chil-dren, Lauren R. McGreevy (Gruszka), son-in law Brent I. Gruszka, Brendan Daniel McGreevy, and Kristen M. McGreevy; his dogs, Gixxer and Kona; his brother, Shawn McGreevy and sister-in-law Lynne; his nieces and nephew, Megan, Michael, and Heather McGreevy. Dan was the beloved son of the late Daniel J. McGreevy and Delores (Coco) McGreevy.

Dan studied real estate law, was a journeyman carpenter, and ran his own contracting and excavating business. Dan’s life passions were operating heavy machinery, carpentry, and construction. He was able to share the knowledge, skills, and value of dedication and hard work with his son and daughters. Dan was a proud father to all three children and loved them dearly.

Dan married in 1980 and after spending the majority of his life working, he spent the remainder of it living a simple life in the woods. Dan enjoyed spending summers in his camper, having bonfires with his children, and riding his UTV. Dan bestowed his love of motorsports on to his kids, and supported his son’s love of motorcycle racing with BDM Motorsports.

Dan could talk to anyone and spent hours telling stories. He knew someone everywhere he went and was willing to help anyone in need.

Family and friends will be received Friday, Jan. 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall. Service and Interment private. In lieu of flowers, please send a memory of Dan to share with his children and family or a tennis ball or Frisbee for his dogs.
