Phyllis Emlet

A funeral service for Phyllis Emlet, formally of Youngsville, who passed away last Saturday, was held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville. The Rev. George Traub, pastor of the Hope Grace Brethren Church in Dillsburg, officiated. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg.

Phyllis Emlet

Phyllis Joyce Curry Em-let, 78, of Cranberry Twp., and formerly of Youngs-ville, was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday Sep-tember 19, 2015.

She was born in Swan-ville, Pa. on April 15, 1937, the twelfth child and sixth daughter to Floyd and Isa-bella Yates Curry. She was a 1955 graduate of North-ern Area Joint High School, Sugar Grove, Pa. and worked for the Warren Co. School District for many years as a secretary, typing teacher and a substitute teacher. In later years, she worked as a secretary for the Youngsville Borough, the Transit Authority of Warren County, a mass transit analyst at PennDOT in Harrisburg, Pa., and also as a secretary treasurer for Franklin Township in York County, Pa. Phyllis was for many years an active member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville and later the Hope Grace Brethren Church of Dillsburg, Pa.

Phyllis was married to the late Stanley Emlet on-December 28, 1961 and they had 3 sons: Kenton Earl Emlet of Dillsburg, Pa., David Robert Emlet of Cranberry Twp., Pa., and Jonathan Curry Emlet of-Standish, Maine. In addi-tion to her sons, she is sur-vived by her daughter-in-laws; Lillian and Jenny, three grand-daughters: Nora Cathryn, Catlin Grace and Linay Ruth, a brother; David Cur-ry of Garland, Pa., and three sisters: Nina Ann and Isa-bella Elizabeth, both of Youngsville, and Delores LaNora of Lottsville, Pa. and numerous nieces, nephews, in-law’s and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven of her siblings.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Nelson Fun-eral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. inYoungsville. A funeral service will be held there on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Traub, pas-tor of the Hope Grace Brethren Church in-Dillsburg, Pa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pa.
