Felony charges against Tiona residents withdrawn

Two Tiona residents have had felony charges filed against them in late July dropped.

Marshall D. Gruber, 21, of Tiona, Pa., pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault while charges of second-degree felony strangulation – blocking the nose and mouth of a person, simple assault and harassment were not prosecuted. Gruber was sentenced to pay $312.25 in fines.

Lillian J. Jones, 22, of Tiona, Pa., also pleaded guilty to simple assault with charges of second-degree felony strangulation – blocking the nose and mouth of a person, simple assault and harassment withdrawn. Jones will also pay $312.25 in fines.

Both were charged by the State Police at Warren in late July after an incident in Mead Township. They appeared in court in front of Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik and made their pleas.

Duane R. Wagner, 43, of Warren pleaded guilty to charges of intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic citation in Magisterial District Court in front of Judge Todd Woodin. Two counts of intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, two counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic citation were withdrawn. Wagner was sentenced to pay $400 in fines.
