Talent show winner performs at Praise Fellowship concert

Dewayne Moore, this year’s winner of both “Chautauqua’s Got Talent” and “Warren’s Got Talent,” isn’t done singing.
Far from it.
The Warren County man recently joined in a performance at the inaugural “Rock the Hub 2025” organized by John Young at Praise Fellowship’s Hub.
“My wife Christy is definitely my biggest supporter and without her encouragement I never would have started to sing publicly,” Moore said.
Moore told the Times Observer Angelo and Ylsa Valentino, the couple who run Chautauqua’s Got Talent in Jamestown taught him how to use and develop his gift further. He is grateful for the confidence they have built into him. Moore has been performing whenever he can, including leading worship at church, which is an “absolute honor.”
“God is definitely moving in the region,” Moore said.
Moore is from the Jamestown/Falconer area but has resided in the Russell/Warren area for more than a decade. Learning guitar is the new challenge currently, and he is very serious about it, learning it for a couple months and practicing daily. Moore notes that he is also working with the Warren Music Conservatory to begin recording some of his own songs.
Part of what drives Moore for the outlet of music is that he is an addict in recovery. His wife, Christy, has spent more than 20 years as a drug and alcohol counselor. They both work in the mental health field and have been running a group called “Overcomers Anonymous,” which will reconvene in October.
“We felt like nearly everyone suffers or struggles with something. And that’s what our group is really about. Anyone that is struggling no matter what the vice, addiction or affliction they are welcome to come and get some help and support,” Moore said.
The support group meets on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 at Praise Fellowship in Russell, PA.
Moore said he is excited for upcoming opportunities with other bands and churches in the surrounding area. His next performance is scheduled to be a part of an upcoming “Rock off the Roof” show on September 20, 2025; to be held at the Spire Theater in Jamestown.
