The Warren County Conservation District recently awarded scholarships to local students pursuing degrees in conservation, agriculture, and environmental sciences.

This year’s awards include the Ralph G. Eckert Scholarship, the Warren County Council of Sportsmen’s Clubs Scholarship, and the Heather Wilcox Scholarship.

The Ralph G. Eckert Scholarship was awarded to Bryceton Maille and Christina Bingman. Maille is currently attending Mount Aloysius College with a major in Conservation Law, while Bingman is pursuing a degree in Environmental Science at the University of Phoenix. Named in honor of Ralph G. Eckert, who served in the Soil Conservation Service from 1950 to 1966, this scholarship is presented annually to Warren County students enrolled in conservation-related fields.

The Warren County Council of Sportsmen’s Clubs Scholarship was awarded to Taylor Tuttle, who is studying Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. This scholarship supports a graduating senior from Warren County who is pursuing an environmental or conservation-related degree.

The Heather Wilcox Scholarship, established to honor the late Heather Wilcox–longtime manager of the Warren County Conservation District and a lifelong advocate for agriculture and conservation–was awarded to Ellie Curtis and Madison Carnahan. Curtis is attending Penn State University, majoring in Animal Science, and Carnahan is enrolled at Paul Smith College, where she is studying Ecological Forest Management. The scholarship supports students pursuing degrees in agricultural-related fields or services.
