Man accused of camp burglaries pleads guilty
A Warren man accused of taking part in several camp burglaries in late 2024 has pleaded guilty to eight felony charges on six separate court dockets.
Kyle A. Lauritson of Warren pleaded guilty recently in front of Judge Gregory Hammond. All told, Lauritson had faced 20 felony charges in Warren County.
On one docket, Lauritson pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree criminal trespass and one count of second-degree felony theft by unlawful taking while charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree receiving stolen property, possession an instrument of crime with intent, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief were not prosecuted.
Lauritson pleaded guilty on a second docket to a charge of second-degree felony criminal trespassing and theft by unlawful taking while a first-degree felony burglary charge as well as charges of receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief were not prosecuted. On a third docket Lauritson pleaded guilty to second-degree felony criminal trespassing and theft by unlawful taking while a first-degree felony charge of burglary, a third-degree felony charge of criminal trespassing, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief charges were not prosecuted.
On a fourth docket, Lauritson pleaded guilty to two third-degree felonies – theft by unlawful taking and criminal trespassing – while two first-degree felony charges of burglary and criminal conspiracy (burglary) were not prosecuted along with third-degree felony charges of criminal trespass and receiving stolen property. Also not prosecuted were misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Lauritson pleaded guilty on a fifth docket to a third-degree felony charge of criminal trespass and a misdemeanor charge of theft by unlawful taking. Not prosecuted were first-degree felony charges of burglary and criminal conspiracy (burglary) and misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Not prosecuted was a first-degree felony charge of burglary and misdemeanor charges of possession of an instrument of crime with intent, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief.
Police say Lauritson and Wesley Crispin of Warren broke into several camps in mid-November 2024. Troopers from the State Police at Warren began investigating the burglaries Nov. 16 and discovered several camps on Punkey Hollow Road in Pittsfield had been broken into. Troopers discovered one burglary after clearing the scene of a prior burglary, according to the Affidavit of Probable Cause. The trooper saw a shed with its doors wide open and a broken pane of glass near the door knob. Muddy footprints were also seen in the camp. An additional shed behind the camp had also been entered. The owner of the camp reported a trail camera, 8mm ammunition and a dog blanket, a Yamaha Wolverine ATV valued at $1,800 had been stolen. Damage to the door of the camp was to cost $800 to repair.
In another burglary investigation, a camp had been entered into and items stolen and, while troopers were investigating, a neighboring camp owner reported his camp had also been burglarized. The first camp investigated Nov. 15 was missing two folding bleacher chairs, hunting climbing sticks, an antique shotgun, a .22 caliber rifle, ammunition and other miscellaneous items were missing.
Some of the items have been recovered, according to the Affidavit of Probable Cause. Others have already been sold, according to police.
Lauritson was allegedly seen Nov. 18, after the burglaries, walking with another person on the road by State Police at Warren while they were on patrol. Lauritson was detailed due to multiple arrest warrants from Erie County, according to the Affidavit of Probable Cause. He was allegedly found with a handgun in his rear jean pocket that police found had been stolen from a burglary in Corry. Lauritson allegedly had several items and tools, including handheld radios and a pry bar, in his backpack. A search of Lauritson’s home resulted in police finding Crispin as well as several stolen items and firearms from the camp burglaries in Warren County, including a .22 caliber rifle, antique shotgun, ammunition, folding bleacher chairs, canned mushrooms, poker cards and chips, hunting climbing sticks and binoculars.
“The defendant and co-defendant were interviewed at PSP Warren on Nov. 18, 2024, where they confessed to a series of burglaries on Punkey Hollow, Pittsfield Township, Warren, Pa. In the time frame in which they were reported, (Lauritson and Crispin) stated they intentionally broke into camps by means of pry-bar and removed items from the structure to be sold or traded for money and or drugs.”
Crispin has not yet made a plea to the charges he faces, though he waived appearance at arraignment in April. He faces charges from the Nov. 12 burglary of burglary, a class 1 felony; criminal trespass, a class 2 felony, criminal trespassing, a class 3 felony; theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property. A second Nov. 12 burglary resulted in charges of burglary, a class 1 felony; two counts of criminal trespass, both class 3 felonies, conspiracy to commit burglary, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, a class 3 felony; theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief. A third burglary that allegedly took place Nov. 12 resulted in charges of burglary, a class 1 felony; criminal trespass, a class 2 felony; theft by unlawful taking, a class 2 felony; receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief – graffiti. Crispin was charged in a fourth Nov. 12 burglary with burglary, criminal trespass, a class 2 felony, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief. A fifth Nov. 12 burglary resulted in charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night time and criminal mischief. Crispin was also charged in a sixth burglary that allegedly took place Nov. 15. Those charges are burglary, a class 1 felony; conspiracy to commit burglary, a class 1 felony; criminal trespassing, a class 3 felony, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief for a burglary that allegedly took place Nov. 15.
The newest charges of first-degree felony burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present; third-degree felony criminal trespassing – entering a structure; second-degree felony theft by unlawful taking – movable property; second-degree felony receiving stolen property, possessing an instrument of crime with intent and loitering and prowling at night time were filed in late March for a burglary in Pleasant Township on June 1, 2024.
