Family Services of Warren County to host gala Friday
Family Services of Warren County will hold its second annual heART Art Therapy Gala on Friday, July 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Conewango Club.
This formal gala is more than just an elegant evening–it’s a celebration of healing through creativity and a critical fundraiser for the Art Therapy Program at Family Services of Warren County. This year’s event will feature live music by The Assembly, a plated dinner, a fine art auction and live dueling artists. A live auction will also raise additional money.
Attendees are invited to dress in formal attire with a unique twist inspired by this year’s theme: “Prismatic Power.” Organizers encourage guests to let prisms, color, and light influence their fashion choices, adding vibrancy and creativity to the evening in celebration of the expressive nature of art therapy.
All proceeds from the gala will directly benefit FSWC’s Art Therapy Program, a service that offers non-verbal, creative therapeutic support to children and families across Warren County.
“For many individuals–especially children and teens–creative expression is a powerful, nonverbal way to process complex emotions, experiences, and trauma,” said Zoey Magill, clinical art therapist at Family Services of Warren County.
“Art therapy offers a unique and accessible alternative to traditional talk therapy, helping those who may struggle to communicate their feelings through words.”
The program has reached a milestone this year with the hiring of a second clinical art therapist, reflecting the increasing demand for these specialized services. Family Services is the only agency within a 60-mile radius offering dedicated art therapy. However, with public grant funding set to expire, the program’s future depends on the generosity of community members and supporters.
Tickets are $50 per person or $400 per table of eight. Sponsorships are encouraged and may include the purchase of a table or a donation in lieu of attendance. All sponsors will have their names prominently displayed at the event and on the fundraising website. Sponsorships directly support access to no-cost school-based Art Therapy services for students in the Warren County School District.
In the past three years, Family Service’s art therapy program has delivered school-based, outpatient, and community services. Its newly renovated facility houses a fully equipped art therapy studio.
“This year’s gala is critical for sustaining the no-cost services so many individuals rely on,” said Magill. “By attending, donating, or sponsoring, you’re helping to eliminate financial barriers to care. That means a child doesn’t have to wait months for support–they can begin healing immediately.”
To purchase tickets, become a sponsor, or donate, visit the FSWC website or contact the organization directly.
“Together, we can provide life-changing services to those who need them most. Please join us in supporting the next chapter of the Art Therapy Program–help us make healing through art possible for everyone, no matter their economic situation,” Magill said.
