A record-breaking year of generosity is being celebrated by the Community Foundation of Warren County.
The foundation hosted its annual Warren Gives Check Celebration at the Conewango Club on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone for the county-wide day of giving.
This year’s Warren Gives event shattered previous records, with an astounding $1,050,431 raised in donations and match pool dollars. Last year’s event distributed $941,952. A total of 110 nonprofit organizations serving Warren County will benefit from the community’s incredible outpouring of support.
Mark King, Executive Director of the Community Foundation, said the success was so outstanding that the Foundation had to increase the match pool from $75,000 to $82,000 to maintain a 10% match on all eligible donations.
“This was a big year – crossing the million-dollar mark and surpassing $7 million raised in the 13-year history of the event,” King said. “It’s a great problem to have and much for the community to celebrate.”
