Youngsville American Legion Post 658 recognized both past and present Honor Guard members with a dinner and medals. The Honor Guard in Youngsville was started by Dave VanHouten and others in 2010. Over the last 15 years, the Honor Guard has performed over 500 Military Honors at local funerals and memorial services. Each member was gifted a commemorative coin as a thank you for their service and Tony Lore, Post Commander presented Dave VanHouten with a paddle to honor his service as the founding Honor Guard member.
