The General Joseph Warren Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has been awarded a NSDAR Stars and Stripes American 250! Celebration grant.

Recently, chapter members and Cherry Hill Cemetery advocates gathered to recognize the new American Flag and flagpole at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Sugar Grove. The NSDAR America 250! Grant is awarded to honor patriots who achieved American independence, such as Moses Farnsworth, who is buried in Cherry Hill Cemetery.

Moses Farnsworth (1756-1827) received a pension in 1818 for service as a private in Capt. Issac Farwell’s company, Col. Joseph Cilley’s New Hampshire regiment. He was born in Littleton, Mass., and died in Sugar Grove, Pa.

“The DAR chapter would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Cherry Hill Cemetery for their vital cooperation and assistance in this worthy project. Their involvement has been integral to the success of this event, and we are truly grateful,” said Michelle Gray, regent for the DAR.
