Dollar General one of 32 properties to move at tax sale
The Dollar General on Jackson Run Road outside Sugar Grove was one of 32 properties that sold at this week’s county upset tax sale.
The store, 12683 Jackson Run Road, sold at the tax sale auction for $230,000, according to information from the Warren County Tax Claim Bureau.
The new owner is identified as “Lucky Number Seven LLC” while the prior owner was “HLP Jackson Run Road LLC & MH Jackson Run Rd. LLC.”
The parcel is just over 1.8 acres.
Tax Claim Director Phil Gilbert said that a total of 53 properties went to the sale while 32 sold.
That 60 percent sale rate, he said, is the highest since he started tracking sale data in 2013. The average year? About 25 percent.
Proceeds from the sale totaled $445,871.78.
Other parcels that brought significant amounts include $40,000 for 10 acres at 81 Hickory Hill Ln., $36,000 for five acres at 1165 Jackson Ave. and $42,000 for over five acres at 2071 Hyde Road.
Properties that did not sell will proceed to the county’s next judicial sale. Parcels exposed for sale there will be sold free and clear of mortgages and liens, unlike this week’s upset sale.
