The Sunday Market, Warren’s newest storefront

The Sunday Market, a new storefront in Warren, is a woman-owned and run business and a family affair. Located at 230 Pennsylvania Avenue in Warren, Shaunta Alburger and Adrienne Grimes, Alburger’s daughter, curate a collection of antiques, vintage clothing, house plants, crafts, and books, reflecting their love for all things unique and nostalgic. Before opening their storefront, the women sold their items at farmers’ markets, on Facebook and on eBay.

Alburger and her family moved to Warren in 2018. The cost of housing was rising in Reno, Nev., and after a third rent increase, she began looking at more affordable areas.

She had never been to Warren; however, her husband had connections in town. It was a quick and somewhat impulsive move, but one Alburger said they don’t regret.

Adrienne Grimes, Shauntas’s daughter, was in graduate school for art history in Oregon when her family moved east. After graduating in May 2020, she came to Warren. Adrienne also sits on the board of the Crary Art Gallery.

They offer a range of antiques that they refurbish; the majority is from the mid-century modern era, but the pieces in their store date back as far as 1830.

“We buy what we love,” Alburger said.

They also sell numerous house plants, often rescue plants, that they nurse back to health.

The Sunday Market is open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Starting at $3.50/week.
