HEFFIELD – Sheffield Area Elementary School recently hosted their annual Basketball Extravaganza to raise money for school yearbooks.

The fundraiser, in its eighth year, is utilized to completely pay for yearbooks for every elementary student.

Students participate in a hoop shoot contest, then the main event, where students take on both faculty and alumni.

According to event organizer and second grade teacher Kristine Conn, the Basketball Extravaganza was back to pre-COVID attendance and money raised.

“The gymnasium was full of proud parents and community members looking to see an entertaining basketball game,” said Conn. “The faculty team pulled off a one-point victory over the students, with the students having last second chance to win.”

Along with Sheffield administrators Misty Weber, Natalie Black, and Kylie Harris, Warren County School District Superintendent Gary Weber also participated on behalf of the faculty team.

Starting at $3.50/week.
