Teen’s project seeks clothing donations

Along the path to growing stronger in her church, Kylie Jurkowski is helping her community and church grow stronger.
As a Confirmation project, Jurkowski, 14, will hold a clothing drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren.
When deciding on a project, she wanted to do something to benefit her community.
“I wanted to do something that would help people,” Jurkowski, 14, said. “I know there are many places that give away food, but not many places that give away clothes.”
She created a flyer seeking donations of clothing and shoes.
The response was strong.
“Many people from the community and Grace Church donated the clothing,” Jurkowski said. “Men’s, women’s, kid’s, teen and baby clothes are all available, some even new with tags.”
As new and gently used items came in, she got them ready to give away – sorting, folding, and bagging.
“I think it’s a great way to help the community and it will benefit a lot of people,” she said.
