Commissioners award contract for part of Center St. reconstruction
Work to bring about a street reconstruction in Clarendon moved ahead in the wake of the county commissioner’s Wednesday meeting.
A. C. Engineering was awarded a $14,000 contract for the engineering service component of the Center Street reconstruction project.
Grants Administrator Danielle Flasher said she presented two bids for the work to Clarendon Borough Council in March and they recommended going with A. C. Engineering.
“They’re excited to give him the opportunity,” Flasher said.
The commissioners also approved an agreement with the ANF and a resolution to sell excess property.
The agreement with the ANF covers patrols performed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office on the Forest.
Commissioner Tricia Durbin said the action was a modification to add $5,750 to the contract from April 15 through the end of the year.
Commissioner Ben Kafferlin said it is a standard agreement “and it works well. We have the resources.”
As far as the excess property, the items include foldable maps, dumbbells, a crowbar and a treadmill.
“We actually did put it out for bid previously,” Kafferlin said, but added that the items have been sitting in the county’s warehouse for the last 13 years.
The action taken Wednesday would donate those items to a non-profit organization.
