7.5 miles of Route 62 part of paving project that starts next week
Road paving season is upon us. A 7.5-mile paving project is slated to start next week on Route 62 from Hatch Run Road up to the New York state line.
It’s a $4.3 million project and will repave the road in both Conewango and Pine Grove townships.
PennDOT said this week that construction is expected, weather permitting, to start Monday.
“Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers,” PennDOT said in a statement. “Access to drives will be maintained.”
The agency says that the project in its entirety isn’t expected to be completed until May 2024.
“Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and anticipate travel delays during active work hours,” they caution.
Total cost of the project is $4,293,777.77. That’s made up of 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
IA Construction of Franklin is the contractor on the project.
