WCVB undertakes international, local promotions

Promotion efforts for Warren County are taking on a bit of an international flavor.

Recently, that’s included advertising efforts in Toronto now and participation in the USA International Sportsmen’s Show last month in Pittsburgh.

Warren County Visitors Bureau Executive Director Casey Ferry said that Canada Travel Magazine approached the WCVB about that opportunity.

So for $2,000 the county will be promoted several times on billboards throughout the Toronto area both now, later this month and again in May.

The show in Pittsburgh, Ferry explained, “was a good time” for both network and meeting with other visitor bureaus and outside recreation agencies.

“So many people talked to me about Tidioute there,” she said, and “no one ever mispronounced it.”

She said 15 people said they have a camp in the Tidioute area. ATV trails also came up prominently while other locations that frequently came up including the ANF, Chapman and Allegheny Reservoir.

Other promotional events in the works are also much closer to home.

Ferry proposed an “event fair” for April that will allow people to come to the Starbrick building. Exhibits for the event would “highlight the year’s coming events. (We) can make it a celebration of the upcoming events.”

She said it also gives people a chance to come in and learn about what the WCVB is doing.

“I want to be an open book and let people see what we’re up to,” she said.

Starting at $4.00/week.
