N. Warren man charged with attempted rape
A North Warren man is behind bars on charges including attempted rape.
Gary H. Koningisor, 69, 1418 Jackson Run Road, was charged by Conewango Township police on Saturday morning.
He faces charges of criminal attempt — rape, criminal attempt — involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, simple assault and harassment.
Police were dispatched to the residence shortly after 2 p.m. on Feb. 23 and met with the alleged victim who reported to police that Koningisor “attempted to rape her and have her perform oral sex on him,” according to the affidavit of probable cause.
She also told police that he threatened to have sex with her and started to grab her. The victim “yelled at him to ‘stop’ several times and told him to leave her alone.”
The affidavit details how he then allegedly attempted to force her to engage in sexual contact again and then assaulted her physically.
Online court records show that Koningisor was arraigned before District Judge Todd Woodin on Saturday morning and placed in the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, where he remains as of Tuesday.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 1.
