Erie man in jail for lewdness, indecent exposure to teen

An Erie man was taken to Warren County jail after he allegedly exposed himself to a boy under the age of 16 at Washington Park.

Jeffrey A. King, 60, of Erie, is charged with unlawful contact with minor – sexual offense; indecent exposure; and open lewdness.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, King approached the boy, asking him personal questions, and offering to give him a ride, in August.

The boy told police King’s genitals were exposed “intentionally,” in his car and on a park bench, according to the affidavit.

He said he then left the scene “and it appeared (King) was attempting to follow him,” according to the affidavit.

Police found King at Washington Park, matching the description given by the boy, and questioned him, according to the affidavit.

“He denied all of it,” police said.

King was arraigned before District Judge Raymond Zydonik on Thursday, Oct. 20, and taken to Warren County jail after failing to post $10,000 bail.

King posted bail on Friday, Oct. 21, and was released.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Starting at $3.50/week.
