The Struthers Wells manufacturing plant closed in 1993.

But over 50 employees gathered for a reunion last weekend at the Starbrick Fire Hall.

“Almost 100 people were present, which included 52 employees of the plant and the office,” Mary Sudul told the Times Observer.

She said that one individual traveled from Harrisburg to attend while the oldest employee in attendance was 90-year-old Don Peterson.

The plant closed in 1993 but the Struthers Wells office remained open for some time after the closure.

“The empty chair in the front is in memory of all Struthers employees who have gone on before us,” Sudul said.

She added that future reunions will be announced and that anyone with connections to Struthers is welcome to attend.

Starting at $3.50/week.
