City spring clean-up date announced

The annual Spring Clean-up program in the City of Warren is set to kick off April 11.

It’s the city’s only collection program and the types of items to be collected include leaves, hedge and brush clippings, tree limbs and branches.

There are, however, some guidelines on how material to be collected needs to be sorted so that it can be processed by city crews.

“Refuse must not be mixed with tree limbs and branches but should be placed in containers such as plastic bags or cardboard boxes,” the city said in a statement. “Leaves should be piled separately and not mixed with other material.”

For chipping purposes, tree limbs and branches should “be piled separately with all cut ends in (the) same direction).

“Items to be collected should be placed near the curb or edge of street pavement, not within the street itself and should be set out for collection as close as possible to the appropriate collection day,” the city said, “but no later than 7 a.m. of the day scheduled.

“Cooperation of residents is appreciated and will help contain the increasing costs for providing these services.”

This is the only collection program the city provides. Cooperation of residents is appreciated and will help contain the increasing costs for providing these services.

Certain unanticipated circumstances could delay the program.

Here’s the schedule for the cleanup (which is potentially subject to “unanticipated circumstances” which could cause delay: April 11, east city limits to Parker St.; April 12, Parker St. to Irvine St.; April 13, Irvine St. to Prospect St.; April 14, west of Prospect St. to the south of E.
