Elementary Center students celebrate ‘Twosday’

Photo submitted to Times Observer Emery Heacox shares her Twosday 2/22/22 prediction of what her life will be like in 22 Years.

There won’t be another day quite like “Twosday” for a very long time.

There won’t be a 33rd day of March, 2033. And, 3/3/33 can’t land on Threesday.

It was an excellent chance for students in second grade at Warren Area Elementary Center to celebrate with two-related activities.

The festivities started out with their appearance. From tutus to tube socks to two pig tails, two was the order of the day.

“We enjoyed class activities that included skip counting by twos, double-digit addition with regrouping, and Things Go Two-gether – a pairing activity where you had to find the pair,” second grade teachers Leah Gorgacz and Dena Pearson said.

Photo submitted to Times Observer Autumn Filiatrault, ice cream, and Joseph Vermilyea, cone, were the perfect pair on Twosday 2/22/22.

Students made “my life in 22 years” projects. Maybe they’ll be able to look back on them on April 4, 2044.

And, shortly before dismissal, students collected for a special event.

“At 2:22pm the entire second grade team met in the lobby to join other schools across the United States to dance to the Cupid Shuffle,” the teachers said.

“It was a wonderful idea developed and carried out by Mrs. Nickerson and Mrs. Pearson,” Second Grade Teacher Rayme Scalise said. “The other second grade teachers and students really enjoyed having this opportunity and it was so much fun for everyone.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
