Countywide spelling bee set for Jan. 27

The Warren County Spelling Bee is coming up and some superlative spellers are making their reservations for the event.

The countywide bee will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Beaty-Warren Middle School.

Eisenhower Elementary School reported its school-level champions on Monday.

By winning, fifth-grader Wesley Wilcox punched his ticket to the event. Classmate Fiona Cook is waiting in the wings as alternate.

The number of students a school may send to the event is based on enrollment in grades five through eight.

Eisenhower Elementary sends one, as can Youngsville Elementary, Sheffield Elementary, Sheffield Middle, Warren County Christian School, St. Joseph Catholic School, and Tidioute Community Charter School.
