City man charged with selling meth
A Warren man faces four felony charges after allegedly selling drugs to two undercover informants.
Joshua E. Young, 44, of Warren was charged Thursday with two counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, two counts of third-degree felony criminal use of a communication facility and two counts of misdemeanor intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered by Warren police.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the investigation involved both the Warren Police Department and a task force member from the state Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Narcotics, both working with confidential informants. Young allegedly communicated with the informant on the phone, agreeing to sell methamphetamine to two informants. A controlled purchase was carried out, with the informant provided pre-recorded money from the state Attorney General’s Office and constant visual contact when the informant met with Young. The affidavit states the informant turned over a plastic bag with a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine. It was found to weigh 2.5 grams. Another controlled purchase by a second confidential informant was then carried out, with the informant purchasing 3.7 grams of methamphetamine.
The methamphetamine was later taken to the State Police Bureau of Forensic Science lab in Erie for testing.
