Prehistoric fun: Library hosts Dinosaur Egg Hunt

Photo submitted to Times Observer Marina Bussoletti, who found the egg containing the golden ticket, poses with Kelli-Rex during the Warren Public Library Dinosaur Egg Hunt.
By BRIAN FERRY bferry@timesobserver.com It wasn’t that the eggs were fossilized, nor particularly oversized, it was just some prehistoric fun. Warren Public Library held a Dinosaur Egg Hunt in July, with special prizes in the eggs. Marina Bussoletti found the egg with the golden ticket — entitling her to a “huge dinosaur gift basket,” according to Children’s Librarian Susan Slater. Among them, Eden, Mason, and Levi Chapple found two eggs with silver tickets and collected dino-swag. They also enjoyed posing for photos with the library’s own Tyrannosaurus (Kelli) Rex. Slater asks those who are tracking their reading on summer reading logs to turn them in by Aug. 9 to be eligible for prizes.
